Valley of Flowers is one of the UNESCO World Heritage site in India famous for its wide variety of flowers and mesmerizing landscapes. Valley of Flowers National Park is located in Chamoli district of Uttrakhand in Garhwal region of Himalayas. How to Reach Valley of Flowers
To reach Valley of Flowers, you have to trek for 17 Kms from Govind Ghat as Valley of Flowers is located at the high altitude in Himalayas in Nanda Devi Bioshphere Reserve, there is no direct way to reach Valley of Flowers but before beginning your trek you have to reach Govind Ghat from where trek to Valley Flowers Starts. Govind Ghat is well connected with roads from some major destinations of Uttrakhand. The near by town of Govind Ghat is Joshimath where you can reach by bus and then you can take a taxi or hire a cab to reach Govind Ghat and then start your trek to Valley of Flowers.
You can also reach Badrinath by Bus as there is direct buses to Badrinath from Haridwar or Rishikesh and then you can take taxi to reach Govind Ghat or you can Stop your buses at Govind Ghat because Govind Ghat comes in the way to Badrinath. Govind Ghat is 25 Kms away from Badrinath.
How to Reach Valley of Flowers by Bus
Trek for Valley of Flowers start from Govind Ghat and you can reach Govind Ghat or Joshimath by Buses or private vehicles as Govind Ghat or Joshimath is well connected with road network from major destinations of Uttrakhand. Joshimath is the nearest town to Govind Ghat. There are various buses runs from Rishikesh or Dehradun for Joshimath or Govind Ghat or you can also take the buses which goes to Badrinath as Govind is on the way to Rishikesh. You can easily reach Rishikesh and then from there take a bus for Joshimath and then take a taxi to reach Govind Ghat which is the beginning point for Valley of Flowers Trek.
You can also take direct buses for Govind Ghat from Rishikesh Gurudwara as there are various buses goes to Govind Ghat which is also the starting point for Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara Trek.
How to Reach Valley of Flowers by Train
The nearest railway station to reach Valley of Flowers is Rishikesh Railway station. You can reach to Rishikesh by train and then from there you can take a bus to reach Govind Ghat or Joshimath. You can easily get buses for Joshimath which is nearest town to Govind Ghat from where trek to Valley of Flowers begins. Buses for Joshimath or Govind Ghat opens early in the morning from Rishikesh Bus stand.
How to Reach Valley of Flowers by Plane
The nearest airport to Valley of Flowers is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun which is about 300 kms away from Valley of Flowers. To reach Valley of Flowers from Jolly Grant Airport, you hire cabs or taxi to reach Govind Ghat or you can take buses from Rishikesh or Haridwar to reach Govind Ghat and from Govind Ghat Trek to Valley of Flowers begin.

To reach Valley of Flowers from Delhi, first of all you have to reach Haridwar or Rishikesh and from there You can take buses or hire cabs to reach Govind Ghat and then your Trek for Valley of Flowers start from Govind Ghat. How to Reach Valley of Flowers from Govind Ghat
Valley of Flowers Trek starts from Govind Ghat. Start your Trek early in the morning from Govind Ghat and reach Ghangharia which is about 10 Kms from Govind Ghat and take one night stay at Ghangharia and the next Trek to Valley of flowers from Ghangharia which is about 6 Kms from Ghangharia.
Govind Ghat to Valley of Flowers Distance : Distance from Govind Ghat to Valley of flowers is approx 16 Kms.
Road Map for Valley of Flowers Trip
- Day 01 – Take a bus or cab from Haridwar or Rishikesh to Govind Ghat, which will take around 12 hours.
- Day 02 – Reach Pulna from Govind Ghat by cab which will cost you 50 rupees and then your Trek to Ghangharia Starts from pulna for 7 hours.
- Day 03 – Trek to Valley of Flowers and back to Ghangharia. It will take around 7 hours.
- Day 04 – Trek to Shree Hemkunt Sahib Gurudwara and back to Ghangharia. It will take around 8 hours.
- Day 05 – Trek back to Govind Ghat, which is base point of the Valley of Flowers.
