Dashashwamedh Ghat, Varanasi

Dashashwamedh Ghat is one of the prominent Ghat of Varanasi with mythological and historical significance. Dashashwamedh Ghat is located near Kashi Vishwanath Mandir at a walking distance from Godowlia Chauraha. Magnificent Ganga Aarti is organised every evening on the Dashashwamedh Ghat and thousands of people gathered there to see the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. It is believed that Brahma performed 10 Ashwamegha Yajna on this Ghat. Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao built the Dashashwamedh Ghat in the year 1748. After few decades Ahilyabahi Holkar, the Queen of Indore, rebuilt the ghat in the year 1774.
